Cancer changes everything—not just for the person diagnosed, but for the entire family.
The Family Cancer Support Network Foundation was born from a personal journey through cancer and the realization that no family should have to face this battle alone. As our founder navigated the challenges of a cancer diagnosis while remaining committed to her family, she experienced firsthand the overwhelming reality that so many families face every day. Beyond doctor's appointments and treatments were countless phone calls, applications, financial concerns, and difficult decisions that demanded time and energy when the focus should have been on healing and being present with loved ones.
Throughout this journey, one question continued to surface: Why should families have to spend precious time searching for help when they are already fighting one of the toughest battles of their lives?
That question became the foundation of our mission.
The Family Cancer Support Network Foundation was created to serve as a trusted guide for families affected by cancer. We connect parents and caregivers with resources, support, and advocacy so they can spend less time navigating complex systems and more time focusing on their health, their children, and the moments that matter most.
Our organization is rooted in three core values: Alliance, Family, and Kindness. We believe that meaningful partnerships create stronger support systems, that family remains at the heart of everything we do, and that kindness has the power to bring hope during life's most difficult seasons.
Today, our mission is simple: to ensure that no family walks this journey alone.
No Family Fights Alone.
Every phone call we make, every resource we locate, and every family we support is a reminder that even in the midst of cancer, hope can be found when people come together to care for one another.
When Elsie Tucker was diagnosed with colon cancer, she quickly learned that cancer affects far more than a person's health. It impacts families, finances, careers, routines, and emotional well-being. As a mother, she experienced firsthand the challenges of balancing treatment while continuing to care for the people who depended on her.
During her journey, Elsie discovered that many resources and programs exist to help cancer patients, but finding and navigating those resources can be overwhelming—especially when families are already under tremendous stress. She realized that families need more than information; they need someone to walk alongside them, help them make connections, and provide guidance every step of the way.
That realization became the inspiration for The Family Cancer Support Network Foundation.
Today, Elsie is committed to ensuring that no family faces cancer alone and that parents can focus on spending meaningful time with their loved ones while receiving the support they need.
